Acupuncture is really a good alternative medicine technique for common ailments such as allergies, minor headaches and pains. I have been practicing acupuncture for 4 years now.

Hi Mary,
You don’t say what else you did. I would always recommend a big change in your diet and an exercise plan. Also you should be placed on herbal and nutritional supplements for your condition by your acupuncturist. In other words we are talking about a lifestyle change and overhaul.
Most people don’t want to do this and hope that just the acupuncture alone will solve the problem and they can go on living their life as they always have. I offer to my patients the opportunity to make these changes and we recommend the lab work to determine what supplements, herbs and food changes you need.
It would be good to get a complete metabolic and hormonal workup done. Do a Metametix allergy test, start working to eliminate the foods that bother you. Until that time go on the acid reflux diet that you can find online — search for silent reflux. For some reason it is the best list for most people until they get going with the other changes.
You will need to change how you eat and what you eat for life. A balance of herbs and supplements daily will be needed also for the rest of your life and once you get better maintaince acupuncture for wellness. Also don’t forget daily exercise. Whether you weight is where you should be or not exercise will keep the Qi moving and your body functioning.
What are the bonuses? You likely have other problems like anxiety, stress, even insomnia. Maybe even pain in your joints or back pain. Many or all of these problems should get better if you follow your specific program without fail.
Doing just acupuncture only part of the puzzle. You need to do the whole program.

Heartburn consists in a burning sensation that starts in the lower part of the chest and can extend itself up to the throat.
It is usually produced when gastric acids are flowing up through the sphincter that separates the stomach from the esophagus because this one has not closed itself completely or maybe because there is a pressure (tight clothes, pregnancy, obesity) in the stomach that makes the acid to go up towards the esophagus.
One of the most popular Heartburn Home Remedies is to drink a quarter of a glass of water with two coffee spoons of apple vinegar 30 minutes after eating.
Mixing two spoons with ginger root and half a cup of water. Mix and boil for 10 minutes. Drink before going to bed.
Prepare a juice made of 4 carrots and 2 lettuce leaves. Put the ingredients inside a shaker with a cup of water for five minutes. Strain the resultant liquid, and drink in the morning.
Eat a cup of natural light yoghurt on an empty stomach, everyday

Stomachache and Heartburn is a disease that affects to a high percentage of the populations. Its treatment is different in each case, but there are some Heartburn Home Remedies that could help you to avoid naturally this burning stomach that wakens you at night.
First thing you should do when a stomach burning wakes you up is to get up. This helps to maintain the acid in its place while you go look for a glass full of cold water.
Drink the whole glass and, next, eat a soup spoon of sodium bicarbonate in half a glass of fresh water. However, be careful, if you suffer from arterial hypertension or if you are pregnant, because this could produce water retention in your extremities or increase your blood pressure
A spoon of vinegar can relieve the discomfort immediately. But, why give your stomach more acid when it seems to have enough of it? Sometimes, heartburn is caused because a lack of acid in your stomach, and vinegar can help you fight the symptoms giving your stomach a little extra juice.
In any case, it is very important that you know which food produce nocturne heartburn. These are: soda, caffeine beverages (you should never drink those before going to bed), alcohol, garlic, citric fruits, tomatoes, tomatoes based products and, unfortunately, chocolate.
Specially before going to bed (at dinner), avoid spicy and fat food, do not drink coffee or anything with caffeine. This way, you should not experiment more problematic nights

Additionally these are good remedies too. It is always important to do 2 things. See a health professional first and know what is wrong for sure. Then you can make changes to your diet that will help you with your acid reflux. But don’t leave the doctor out of the picture. Be sure this is the problem.
